I put these packs together for the 2020 Shetland Wool Week hat, Katie’s Kep, after phone calls from some of my regular Wednesday night Knit & Knatter ladies asking for yarn. After lots of conversations that went along the lines of ‘I want bright colours, but not gaudy’ and ‘I want a pretty one, but not wishy washy’ I decided to put together a selection of colourways.
The new 2024 hat is now out, and the pattern can be purchased from the Shetland Wool Week site. This years hat also uses 4 pattern colours and either 1 or 2 balls for the background.
So, You now have a choice to order a 6 ball yarn pack (containing 6x 25g balls of Jamieson and Smith Shetland 2 ply yarn. 2x main colour and four other colours for the pattern.)
Or a 5 ball pack containing 1 ball or each colour in the colourway.
